From a young age, Sergei showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Sergei began his musical education at the Gnessin School of Music in Moscow, where he studied cello under the guidance of Professor Alexander Fedorchenko. He later continued his studies at the Moscow State Conservatory, where he was mentored by Professor Natalia Shakhovskaya. During his time at the conservatory, Sergei won several prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians in 1992. This award helped to launch his career as a professional musician. After completing his studies, Sergei began performing with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra.
