Peter A. Franzi was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Franzi showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Franzi's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. By the age of ten, Franzi had already performed in several concerts and had won several awards for his piano playing. In 1996, Franzi was accepted into the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he continued his musical education under the guidance of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Franzi won several competitions and performed in numerous concerts, including a solo recital at Carnegie Hall. After graduating from Juilliard, Franzi went on to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. While at Curtis, Franzi studied with renowned pianist Gary Graffman and performed in several concerts, including a solo recital at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. In 2008, Franzi was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides financial support to help them further their careers. The grant allowed Franzi to perform in several concerts across the United States and Europe, including a performance with the New York Philharmonic. In 2010, Franzi released his debut album, "Peter A. Franzi Plays Chopin," which received critical acclaim and was praised for its technical virtuosity and emotional depth. The album featured Franzi's interpretations of some of Chopin's most famous works, including the "Fantaisie-Impromptu" and the "Ballade No. 1." Over the years, Franzi has continued to perform in concerts and recitals around the world, including performances at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has also collaborated with several renowned musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In addition to his performing career, Franzi is also a dedicated teacher and has taught at several prestigious music schools, including the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music. He is known for his patient and nurturing teaching style, and many of his students have gone on to successful careers in music. Today, Peter A. Franzi is widely regarded as one of the most talented and accomplished pianists of his generation.
