The ensemble is named after its founder and artistic director, violinist and violist, Christoph Schefczyk. The ensemble's main members include Christoph Schefczyk, violinist and violist, who is also the artistic director of the ensemble; pianist, Anna Fedorova; cellist, Benedict Kloeckner; and clarinetist, Sebastian Manz. All of the members of the ensemble are highly accomplished musicians who have won numerous awards and accolades for their performances. Schefczyk has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Rheingau Musik Festival, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. One of the highlights of Schefczyk's career was their performance at the Rheingau Musik Festival in 2014, where they performed a program of works by Mozart, Brahms, and Schumann.
