Mathias Beyer-Karlshoj is a Danish cellist who has established himself as one of the most exciting and versatile musicians of his generation. Born in 1990 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Beyer-Karlshoj began playing the cello at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He went on to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees with honors. Beyer-Karlshoj's career as a professional musician began in earnest when he won the prestigious Carl Nielsen International Competition in 2012.
