The Isasi Quartet is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2010 in Madrid, Spain. The quartet is named after the Spanish composer and violinist, Juan José Isasi, who was a prominent figure in the Spanish music scene during the early 20th century. The founding members of the Isasi Quartet were violinists Sara Cubas and Isabel Villanueva, violist Isabel Villanueva, and cellist Ángela García. All four members had previously studied at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and had performed in various orchestras and ensembles before coming together to form the Isasi Quartet. Since its founding, the Isasi Quartet has become one of the most prominent classical music ensembles in Spain, performing in some of the country's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. The quartet has also toured extensively throughout Europe and Asia, earning critical acclaim for their performances. One of the highlights of the Isasi Quartet's career was their performance at the 2012 International Chamber Music Festival in Madrid. The quartet performed a program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Isasi, earning a standing ovation from the audience and rave reviews from critics. In 2014, the Isasi Quartet was awarded the prestigious "Best Chamber Music Ensemble" award at the Spanish National Music Awards. The quartet was recognized for their outstanding performances and contributions to the Spanish classical music scene. Another notable performance by the Isasi Quartet was their collaboration with the Spanish National Orchestra in 2016. The quartet performed Mozart's String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, K. 465, also known as the "Dissonance" quartet, with the orchestra. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising the quartet's precision and the orchestra's lush accompaniment. In addition to their performances, the Isasi Quartet is also committed to promoting classical music education and outreach. The quartet regularly conducts masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and has collaborated with various music schools and conservatories throughout Spain. Overall, the Isasi Quartet has established itself as one of the most talented and respected classical music ensembles in Spain and beyond. With their impeccable musicianship and commitment to promoting classical music, the quartet is sure to continue making waves in the classical music world for years to come.More....
