Harriet Colley was born on May 12, 1985, in London, England. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Harriet showed a natural talent for music and began playing the violin at the age of four. Harriet's parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking lessons with renowned violinists and quickly gained a reputation as a prodigy. At the age of ten, Harriet made her debut performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Throughout her teenage years, Harriet continued to hone her skills and perform at various venues across Europe. She won several prestigious competitions, including the Menuhin Competition and the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition. Her performances were praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. In 2003, Harriet was invited to perform at the Proms, a series of classical music concerts held annually in London. Her performance of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto was met with critical acclaim and cemented her status as one of the most promising young violinists of her generation. Over the next few years, Harriet continued to perform at major venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.
