Kira Leonova was born on May 15, 1985, in Moscow, Russia. She was born into a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father being a violinist. From a young age, Kira was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Kira's talent for music was evident from a young age, and she began performing in public at the age of six. She quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent and was invited to perform at various concerts and events in Moscow. At the age of ten, Kira was accepted into the prestigious Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Vladimir Tropp. Under his tutelage, Kira honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. Throughout her time at the Moscow Conservatory, Kira participated in numerous competitions and performances, winning several awards and accolades. In 2001, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Paris, France, and in 2003, she won the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Tokyo, Japan. She then went on to pursue further studies at the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Emanuel Ax. During her time at Juilliard, Kira continued to perform in concerts and competitions, winning several awards and accolades. In 2007, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in New York City, and in 2008, she won the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in London, England. Kira's talent and dedication to her craft continued to be recognized, and she was invited to perform at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. In addition to her solo performances, Kira also collaborated with other musicians and ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Paris Opera Orchestra. Her performances were always met with critical acclaim, with reviewers praising her technical skill, musicality, and emotional depth. Throughout her career, Kira has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to classical music. In 2010, she was awarded the Order of Friendship by the Russian government for her outstanding achievements in the field of music. In 2012, she was awarded the Medal of Honor by the French government for her contributions to French culture.
