West's dedication and hard work paid off, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1972. After completing his studies, West began his career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform at some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. In 1974, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall, where he received a standing ovation for his performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27, No. 2, also known as the "Moonlight Sonata." West's career continued to flourish, and he went on to perform at other notable venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Sydney Opera House. He also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors of the time, including Leonard Bernstein, Herbert von Karajan, and Claudio Abbado.
