Ensemble Aventure is a contemporary classical music group based in Freiburg, Germany. The ensemble was founded in 1986 by a group of young musicians who were passionate about exploring new and experimental music. Over the years, Ensemble Aventure has become one of the most respected and innovative ensembles in the contemporary classical music scene. The founding members of Ensemble Aventure were the flutist Eva Furrer, the clarinetist Marcus Weiss, the pianist Yukiko Sugawara, and the percussionist Christian Dierstein. They were all students at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, and they shared a common interest in contemporary music. They decided to form an ensemble that would focus on performing new and experimental works by living composers. One of the most memorable performances in Ensemble Aventure's history was their performance of Helmut Lachenmann's "Mouvement (- vor der Erstarrung)" at the Salzburg Festival in 2003.
