Miriam Ondrásková is a Slovakian classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a talented pianist and chamber musician. Born on May 22, 1989, in Bratislava, Slovakia, Ondrásková showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with renowned piano teachers in her hometown. As a young musician, Ondrásková participated in numerous competitions and festivals, winning several awards and accolades along the way. In 2005, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Bratislava, and in 2007, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Competition for Young Pianists in Kosice, Slovakia. These early successes helped to establish Ondrásková as a rising star in the classical music world and paved the way for her future career as a professional musician. After completing her studies at the Bratislava Conservatory, Ondrásková went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in piano performance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic. During her time in Prague, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected piano teachers in the country, including Ivan Klánský and Martin Kasík. She also participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as András Schiff, Paul Lewis, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, further honing her skills and expanding her musical horizons. Following her graduation from the Academy of Performing Arts in 2012, Ondrásková continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, where she earned a Master's degree in piano performance. During her time in Munich, she had the opportunity to work with some of the most respected piano teachers in the world, including Gerhard Oppitz and Michael Schäfer. She also participated in numerous chamber music projects and collaborations, further developing her skills as a collaborative pianist and chamber musician. Throughout her career, Ondrásková has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, earning critical acclaim for her virtuosic playing and sensitive interpretations of classical repertoire. Some of her most notable performances include a solo recital at the Slovak Philharmonic in Bratislava, a performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Slovak Radio Symphony Orchestra, and a chamber music concert at the Prague Spring Festival. In addition to her performing career, Ondrásková is also a dedicated teacher and mentor to young musicians. She has taught piano at the Bratislava Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and has also served as a guest lecturer and masterclass instructor at various music schools and festivals throughout Europe and Asia. Throughout her career, Ondrásková has received numerous awards and accolades for her contributions to the classical music world. In 2015, she was awarded the prestigious Talent of the Year award by the Slovak Ministry of Culture, recognizing her as one of the most promising young musicians in the country. She has also been a finalist in several international piano competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, and the International Piano Competition in Hamamatsu, Japan. Today, Miriam Ondrásková continues to perform and teach, sharing her passion for classical music with audiences and students around the world.
