Cis Collegium Mozarteum Salzburg is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1971 in Salzburg, Austria. The ensemble is named after the note "C sharp" (Cis in German) which is a prominent note in the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was born and raised in Salzburg. The founding members of Cis Collegium Mozarteum Salzburg were a group of young musicians who were studying at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg. Cis Collegium Mozarteum Salzburg has performed all over the world, including in Europe, Asia, and North America. They have performed in some of the most famous concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Musikverein in Vienna. One of the highlights of the ensemble's career was their performance at the Salzburg Festival in 1991. The Salzburg Festival is one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world, and Cis Collegium Mozarteum Salzburg was honored to be invited to perform. They performed a program of Mozart's chamber music, which was very well received by the audience and critics alike.
