Le Nouveau Quatuor is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2011 in Paris, France. The group is composed of four members, each of whom is a highly skilled musician with a passion for chamber music. The members of the ensemble are violinists Alix Lagasse and Raphaël Oleg, violist Laurent Verney, and cellist François Salque. The founding of Le Nouveau Quatuor was the result of a shared desire among the four musicians to explore the rich and diverse repertoire of chamber music. The group's name, which translates to "The New Quartet," reflects their commitment to bringing a fresh perspective to classical music. The ensemble was invited to perform alongside renowned pianist Martha Argerich, and their performance of Schumann's Piano Quintet was hailed as a triumph. The group has also performed at other prestigious festivals, including the Festival de La Roque d'Anthéron, the Festival de Saint-Denis, and the Festival de Montpellier.
