Role:EnsembleEnsemble Battistin is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by the Australian cellist, Danny Yeadon, and the Italian harpsichordist, Federico Guglielmo. The ensemble is named after the 18th-century Venetian composer and cellist, Giovanni Battista Battistin, who was a contemporary of Antonio Vivaldi. The founding members of Ensemble Battistin were both accomplished musicians in their own right before they came together to form the ensemble. Danny Yeadon had studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and had performed with many of Australia's leading orchestras, while Federico Guglielmo had studied at the Conservatorio di Musica Benedetto Marcello in Venice and had performed with many of Europe's leading early music ensembles. Ensemble Battistin's repertoire focuses on music from the Baroque and Classical periods, with a particular emphasis on the music of Vivaldi and his contemporaries. The ensemble's performances are characterized by their virtuosity, energy, and passion for the music they play. Over the years, Ensemble Battistin has performed at many of the world's leading music festivals and concert halls, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The ensemble has also collaborated with many of the world's leading soloists, including the violinist Giuliano Carmignola and the soprano Emma Kirkby. One of the highlights of Ensemble Battistin's career was their performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the Salzburg Festival in 2008. The performance was widely praised for its energy, virtuosity, and freshness, and it helped to establish the ensemble as one of the leading interpreters of Vivaldi's music. Another highlight of Ensemble Battistin's career was their recording of Vivaldi's complete cello sonatas, which was released in 2010 on the Brilliant Classics label. The recording was widely praised for its technical excellence and its sensitive interpretation of Vivaldi's music. Ensemble Battistin has also been the recipient of many awards and accolades over the years. In 2007, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious ECHO Klassik award for their recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The award is one of the most prestigious in the classical music world and is given to the best recordings of the year in various categories. In addition to their performances and recordings, Ensemble Battistin is also committed to music education and outreach. The ensemble regularly gives masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and they have also performed in many schools and community centers around the world. In conclusion, Ensemble Battistin is one of the leading classical music ensembles of our time. Their virtuosity, energy, and passion for the music they play have won them many fans around the world, and their recordings and performances have been widely praised for their technical excellence and sensitive interpretation of the music. With their commitment to music education and outreach, Ensemble Battistin is also helping to inspire the next generation of musicians and music lovers.More....
