The trio consists of three members: Kliment Krylovskiy on clarinet, Vanessa Mollard on violin, and Riko Higuma on piano. Kliment Krylovskiy, the clarinetist of the Zodiac Trio, was born in Russia and began playing the clarinet at the age of six. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School in New York. Vanessa Mollard, the violinist, was born in France and began playing the violin at the age of four. She studied at the Paris Conservatory and later at the Juilliard School. Riko Higuma, the pianist, was born in Japan and began playing the piano at the age of three. She studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and later at the Juilliard School. The Zodiac Trio has performed at major venues and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Shanghai Oriental Art Center. The ensemble has also collaborated with renowned musicians such as cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Menahem Pressler. One of the highlights of the Zodiac Trio's career was their performance at the 2010 Chamber Music America Conference, where they were awarded the ASCAP/CMA Award for Adventurous Programming. The ensemble was recognized for their innovative programming, which often includes contemporary works alongside classical repertoire. In addition to their performances, the Zodiac Trio is also committed to education and outreach. The ensemble has conducted masterclasses and workshops at universities and music schools around the world, and has worked with young musicians through programs such as the Juilliard School's Music Advancement Program. The Zodiac Trio has released several albums, including their debut album "Dance Me to the End of Love" in 2008, which features works by Astor Piazzolla, Sergei Prokofiev, and Leonard Cohen. The ensemble's most recent album, "Nature," was released in 2020 and features works by composers such as Olivier Messiaen and Arvo Pärt.
