The Kazakh State String Quartet is a renowned classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 50 years. The quartet was founded in 1968 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by four talented musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The founding members of the quartet were Marat Bisengaliev (violin), Yerzhan Dautov (violin), Amangeldy Issenov (viola), and Muratbek Begalin (cello). All four musicians were graduates of the Kazakh State Conservatory, where they had studied under some of the most distinguished music professors in the country. From the very beginning, the Kazakh State String Quartet set out to establish themselves as one of the leading chamber music ensembles in the world. They quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional musicianship, technical proficiency, and innovative interpretations of classical music. Over the years, the quartet has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls and music festivals around the world. They have collaborated with many renowned musicians and conductors, including Yo-Yo Ma, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Valery Gergiev. One of the highlights of the quartet's career was their performance at the 1989 Edinburgh International Festival, where they received critical acclaim for their interpretation of Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8. The performance was so well-received that the quartet was invited to perform at the festival again in 1991. In addition to their numerous performances, the Kazakh State String Quartet has also won many awards and accolades throughout their career. They were awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1985, and in 1991 they were named Honored Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The quartet has also recorded many albums over the years, including a highly acclaimed recording of Shostakovich's complete string quartets. Their recordings have been praised for their technical precision, emotional depth, and innovative interpretations of classical music. Despite the many changes that have taken place in the world of classical music over the past 50 years, the Kazakh State String Quartet has remained a constant presence, continuing to inspire and delight audiences with their exceptional performances. Their dedication to their craft and their commitment to excellence have made them one of the most respected and admired chamber music ensembles in the world.More....
