He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Jakob showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Jakob's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly progressed, displaying an exceptional ability to interpret and perform classical music. By the age of ten, Jakob had already won several local piano competitions and was invited to perform at prestigious venues across Europe. In 1997, Jakob was accepted into the Vienna Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Professor Paul Badura-Skoda. Under Badura-Skoda's guidance, Jakob honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of the nuances of classical music. In 2003, Jakob graduated from the Vienna Conservatory with honors and was awarded a scholarship to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. At Juilliard, Jakob studied with the legendary pianist and teacher, Emanuel Ax, and continued to refine his technique and interpretation of classical music. During his time at Juilliard, Jakob won several prestigious awards, including the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. These victories catapulted him to international fame, and he began performing at major concert halls around the world. Jakob's performances were characterized by his technical brilliance, musical sensitivity, and deep emotional connection to the music. He was particularly renowned for his interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Schumann, and his performances of these composers' works were hailed as revelatory. In 2010, Jakob released his debut album, which featured his interpretations of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas. The album was a critical and commercial success, and Jakob was praised for his ability to bring a fresh perspective to these well-known works. Over the years, Jakob continued to perform at major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall.
