Martin Ostertag, the cellist of the Ravensburg Beethoven Trio, was born in Germany in 1959. He began playing the cello at the age of six and went on to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Freiburg. Ostertag has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States.
