Role:PerformerGenre:ChamberConcertoMegan Meisenbach is a classical music artist who has made a name for herself in the world of opera. Born in 1985 in San Francisco, California, Meisenbach grew up in a family of musicians. Her mother was a pianist and her father was a cellist, so it was no surprise that Meisenbach showed an interest in music at a young age. Meisenbach began taking piano lessons when she was just five years old, and by the time she was in high school, she had added singing to her repertoire. She was a member of her school's choir and also participated in local theater productions. It was during this time that Meisenbach discovered her love for opera. After graduating from high school, Meisenbach attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied voice. She also continued to study piano, as well as music theory and composition. During her time at the conservatory, Meisenbach had the opportunity to perform in several operas, including Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" and Puccini's "La Bohème." After completing her studies at the conservatory, Meisenbach moved to New York City to pursue a career in opera. She quickly made a name for herself in the city's opera scene, and was soon performing in productions at some of the city's most prestigious venues, including the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall. One of Meisenbach's most notable performances was in the Metropolitan Opera's production of Verdi's "La Traviata." Meisenbach played the role of Violetta, the lead character, and received rave reviews for her performance. The New York Times called her "a revelation" and praised her "powerful and nuanced" singing. Meisenbach's success at the Metropolitan Opera led to other opportunities, and she soon began performing in operas around the world. She has performed in productions in Europe, Asia, and South America, and has worked with some of the most renowned conductors and directors in the industry. In addition to her work in opera, Meisenbach has also performed in concerts and recitals. She has a particular affinity for the music of Schubert and has performed his song cycles in recitals throughout the United States. Meisenbach's talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and she has received several awards and honors throughout her career. In 2010, she was awarded the Richard Tucker Career Grant, which is given to young opera singers who show exceptional promise. She was also a finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2009. Despite her success, Meisenbach remains humble and dedicated to her craft. She continues to work tirelessly to improve her singing and to bring the beauty of opera to audiences around the world.More....
