Ensemble Nomos is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2005 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in Paris, France, and is known for its innovative and dynamic performances of classical and contemporary music. The founding members of Ensemble Nomos were violinist Raphaël Oleg, cellist Eric-Maria Couturier, and pianist Florent Boffard. They were later joined by violist Lise Berthaud and clarinetist Jérôme Comte. All of the members of the ensemble are accomplished soloists and chamber musicians who have performed with some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles. Ensemble Nomos has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals, including the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Salle Pleyel, the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, and the Salzburg Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated with some of the world's leading composers, including Pierre Boulez, György Kurtág, and Kaija Saariaho. One of the highlights of Ensemble Nomos's career was their performance of Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time at the Salzburg Festival in 2008. The performance was hailed as a triumph by critics and audiences alike, and the ensemble was praised for their sensitive and nuanced interpretation of the work. Ensemble Nomos has also been recognized for their recordings, which have received critical acclaim and numerous awards. Their recording of Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time was awarded the Diapason d'Or in 2009, and their recording of Kaija Saariaho's chamber music was awarded the Grand Prix du Disque in 2011. In addition to their performances and recordings, Ensemble Nomos is also committed to promoting contemporary music and working with young composers. The ensemble has commissioned and premiered numerous works by emerging composers, and they regularly collaborate with young musicians and composers in educational and outreach programs. Overall, Ensemble Nomos is a dynamic and innovative ensemble that has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Their performances and recordings have been praised for their sensitivity, nuance, and technical excellence, and they have helped to promote and advance the art of chamber music in the 21st century.More....
