Trio Campanella is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2007 in Seoul, South Korea. The ensemble consists of three members: violinist Kim Chee-Yun, cellist Myung-Wha Chung, and pianist Myung-Whun Chung. The trio has gained international recognition for their exceptional performances and has won numerous awards for their contributions to classical music. Kim Chee-Yun, the violinist of Trio Campanella, was born in Seoul in 1971. She began playing the violin at the age of four and went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to her work with Trio Campanella, Kim is also a soloist and chamber musician. Myung-Wha Chung, the cellist of Trio Campanella, was born in Seoul in 1944. She began playing the cello at the age of six and went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City. She has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to her work with Trio Campanella, Myung-Wha Chung is also a soloist and chamber musician. Myung-Whun Chung, the pianist of Trio Campanella, was born in Seoul in 1953. He began playing the piano at the age of six and went on to study at the Paris Conservatory. He has conducted many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to his work with Trio Campanella, Myung-Whun Chung is also a conductor. Trio Campanella has performed at many of the world's leading concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. The trio has also performed at many of the world's leading music festivals, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. In 2010, Trio Campanella won the Grand Prize at the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition in Japan. The trio was praised for their exceptional musicianship and their ability to communicate with each other on stage. The following year, Trio Campanella was invited to perform at the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea. The concert was a huge success, and the trio received a standing ovation from the audience. In 2012, Trio Campanella released their debut album, "Trio Campanella Plays Beethoven." The album was a critical and commercial success, and it showcased the trio's exceptional musicianship and their ability to interpret Beethoven's music with great sensitivity and nuance. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance category. In 2014, Trio Campanella performed at the BBC Proms in London.
