Role:PerformerSusanna Piolanti is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in Italy in 1975, Piolanti showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Piolanti's musical education began at the Conservatory of Music in Bologna, where she studied piano under the guidance of Maestro Franco Scala. She later continued her studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where she studied with Maestro Sergio Perticaroli. During her time at the Accademia, Piolanti also had the opportunity to work with renowned pianists such as Aldo Ciccolini and Lazar Berman. Piolanti's talent and dedication to music soon began to pay off, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 1995, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Città di Marsala" in Italy. This was followed by a series of other awards, including first prize at the International Piano Competition "Città di Cantù" in 1996 and first prize at the International Piano Competition "Città di Treviso" in 1997. Piolanti's career as a concert pianist began to take off in the late 1990s, and she began to perform in major concert halls around the world. In 1998, she made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A major with the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala. This was followed by performances with other major orchestras, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. One of Piolanti's most memorable performances took place in 2001, when she performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, also known as the "Emperor" concerto, with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta and was broadcast live on television around the world. Piolanti's performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Piolanti has also collaborated with other musicians and ensembles. In 2003, she formed a piano duo with her husband, the pianist and composer Andrea Carcano. The duo has performed together in major concert halls around the world and has recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Brahms' Hungarian Dances. Piolanti's dedication to music has also led her to become involved in music education. She has taught masterclasses at several universities and conservatories around the world, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. She has also served as a jury member for several international piano competitions, including the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
