His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical violinist. From a young age, Robert showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Robert's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue music seriously. He began taking piano lessons with a local teacher and quickly progressed. By the age of ten, he had won his first piano competition, and by the age of twelve, he had performed his first solo recital. Robert continued to excel in music throughout his teenage years. He attended the Atlanta School of the Arts, where he studied piano and music theory. He also participated in various music competitions and festivals, winning numerous awards and accolades. In 2003, Robert was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 2007. During his time at Juilliard, Robert performed in numerous concerts and recitals, both as a soloist and as part of an ensemble. After graduating from Juilliard, Robert began his professional career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained recognition for his virtuosic playing and musical sensitivity. He performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Robert's repertoire was vast and included works by some of the greatest composers in history, such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart. He was particularly known for his interpretations of the works of Franz Liszt, a composer known for his technically demanding piano pieces. In addition to his solo performances, Robert also collaborated with many orchestras and chamber groups. He performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. He also recorded several albums, including a critically acclaimed recording of Liszt's piano works. Throughout his career, Robert received numerous awards and honors. In 2010, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, a prestigious award given to outstanding young musicians. He was also a recipient of the Gilmore Young Artist Award, which recognizes exceptional pianists under the age of 22. Despite his success, Robert remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to practice for hours every day, always striving to improve his playing. He also remained committed to music education, giving masterclasses and workshops to young musicians. Tragically, Robert's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2015. He underwent treatment but ultimately succumbed to the disease in 2017, at the age of 32. Robert's legacy lives on through his recordings and the memories of those who were fortunate enough to hear him play. He was a true musical genius, whose talent and dedication to his craft inspired countless musicians and music lovers around the world.More....
