She studied classical piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and later jazz at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. During her studies, she was exposed to a wide range of musical styles, including contemporary classical music, free improvisation, and world music. In 1999, Keller formed the Andrea Keller Quartet, which quickly gained recognition for its innovative approach to jazz.
