Role:PerformerRena Garazioti is a Greek classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born in Athens in 1992, Garazioti began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her first piano lessons from her mother, who was also a pianist, and later studied with renowned teachers such as Elena Mouzala and Vassilis Varvaresos. Garazioti's early years were marked by a series of impressive achievements. At the age of nine, she won first prize in the National Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Greece, and at twelve, she was awarded a scholarship to study at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. During her time in Salzburg, Garazioti had the opportunity to work with some of the world's most distinguished pianists, including Paul Badura-Skoda, András Schiff, and Imogen Cooper. In 2010, Garazioti was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she continued her studies with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Robert McDonald. While at Juilliard, Garazioti was awarded the Arthur Rubinstein Prize, which is given to the most outstanding pianist in the school's piano department. She also won the Gina Bachauer Piano Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was a finalist in the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain. Garazioti's career as a concert pianist began to take off in earnest after she graduated from Juilliard in 2014. She has since performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. She has also appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Garazioti's repertoire is wide-ranging and includes works by many of the great composers of the classical tradition, from Bach and Mozart to Beethoven and Chopin. She is particularly known for her interpretations of the music of Franz Liszt, and has been praised for her ability to bring out the emotional depth and complexity of his compositions. In addition to her work as a performer, Garazioti is also a dedicated teacher and mentor to young musicians. She has given masterclasses at many of the world's leading music schools, including the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Conservatoire de Paris, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She is also a frequent guest lecturer at universities and music festivals around the world. Garazioti's many accomplishments have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2016, she was named a Steinway Artist, joining a select group of pianists who are recognized for their exceptional talent and dedication to the instrument. She has also been awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise for a career in classical music.
