In 1952, Albano graduated from the conservatory and began his career as a composer. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was appointed as the conductor of the Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra of Albania. He held this position for over 20 years and conducted numerous concerts and recordings. Albano's music was heavily influenced by Albanian folk music and culture. His music was also influenced by the works of other composers, including Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach. One of Albano's most famous works is his opera, "Skenderbeu." The opera tells the story of the Albanian national hero, Skanderbeg, and his fight against the Ottoman Empire. The opera premiered in 1959 and was a huge success. It was performed numerous times in Albania and other countries, including Italy and the former Soviet Union.
