Il Furibondo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 by the Italian violinist Davide Amodio. The ensemble is known for its passionate and energetic performances of Baroque and Classical music, and has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most exciting and dynamic ensembles in the classical music world. Davide Amodio, the founder and artistic director of Il Furibondo, is a highly accomplished violinist who has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras and ensembles. He was born in Italy and began playing the violin at a young age, studying with some of the country's most renowned teachers. He later went on to study at the Conservatory of Music in Milan, where he honed his skills as a soloist and chamber musician. After completing his studies, Amodio began performing with various orchestras and ensembles throughout Europe and the United States. He quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso violinist with a passion for Baroque and Classical music, and in 2012 he decided to form his own ensemble, Il Furibondo. The ensemble's name, which means "the furious one" in Italian, reflects the group's intense and passionate approach to music-making. Il Furibondo is made up of a core group of musicians, including Amodio on violin, Luca Pianca on theorbo and guitar, and Marco Frezzato on cello. The ensemble is often joined by other musicians, depending on the repertoire being performed. Il Furibondo's repertoire focuses primarily on Baroque and Classical music, with a particular emphasis on the music of Antonio Vivaldi. The ensemble's performances are characterized by their energy, virtuosity, and emotional intensity, and they have been praised by audiences and critics alike for their dynamic and engaging performances. One of the highlights of Il Furibondo's career was their performance at the 2014 Festival Oude Muziek in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The festival is one of the most prestigious early music festivals in the world, and Il Furibondo's performance was widely acclaimed as one of the highlights of the festival. The ensemble's performance of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" was particularly praised for its virtuosity and emotional depth. Il Furibondo has also performed at other major festivals and venues throughout Europe, including the Festival de Musique Baroque de Pontoise in France, the Festival de Música Antiga de Barcelona in Spain, and the Wigmore Hall in London. The ensemble has also released several critically acclaimed recordings, including their debut album, "Vivaldi: The Four Seasons," which was released in 2014. In addition to their performances and recordings, Il Furibondo has also been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2015, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious ECHO Klassik award for their recording of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons." The ECHO Klassik is one of the most prestigious classical music awards in the world, and is awarded annually to the best classical recordings and performances. Il Furibondo's success can be attributed to their passionate and dynamic approach to music-making, as well as their commitment to exploring the rich and diverse repertoire of Baroque and Classical music. With their virtuosity, energy, and emotional depth, Il Furibondo has quickly become one of the most exciting and dynamic ensembles in the classical music world.More....
