Nikolaj Koppel is a Danish classical pianist, composer, and conductor. He was born on June 3, 1969, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to a family of musicians. His father, Herman D. Koppel, was a renowned composer and pianist, and his mother, Hanna Koppel, was a sculptor and designer. Koppel began playing the piano at the age of four and showed exceptional talent from an early age. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where he received his diploma in piano performance in 1993. He also studied with renowned pianists such as Leon Fleisher, Murray Perahia, and András Schiff.
