Margaret Marco is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born in 1965 in New York City, Margaret showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Margaret attended the Juilliard School of Music in New York City, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Vladimir Horowitz. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1987 and went on to pursue a Master of Music degree at the same institution. During her time at Juilliard, Margaret developed a passion for the oboe and began studying the instrument under the guidance of John Mack, the principal oboist of the Cleveland Orchestra. She quickly excelled in her studies and was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 1991. Margaret's career as an oboist took off after she won the principal oboe position with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1992. She held this position for 10 years and during this time, she performed with some of the world's most renowned conductors, including Robert Shaw, Yoel Levi, and Donald Runnicles. In addition to her work with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Margaret has also performed with other major orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She has also been a featured soloist with many of these orchestras, performing works by composers such as Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. Margaret's talent as an oboist has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 1995, she was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Grant, which allowed her to perform a solo recital at Carnegie Hall. She has also been a recipient of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program Award and the Atlanta Music Club's Career Award. In addition to her work as a performer, Margaret is also a dedicated teacher and has served on the faculty of several prestigious music schools, including the Juilliard School, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and the University of Michigan School of Music. She has also given masterclasses and workshops around the world, sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring musicians. Margaret's dedication to music and her talent as an oboist have made her a beloved figure in the classical music world. Her performances are known for their technical precision and emotional depth, and she has inspired countless musicians and music lovers around the world.
