Role:EnsembleTrio Kreisleriana is a classical music ensemble that was formed in 2010. The trio consists of three talented musicians: pianist Anna Fedorova, violinist Maria Milstein, and cellist Gideon den Herder. The ensemble is named after Robert Schumann's Kreisleriana, a set of eight pieces for solo piano that were inspired by the fictional character Johannes Kreisler. Anna Fedorova was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1990. She began playing the piano at the age of five and gave her first public performance at the age of six. She studied at the Lysenko Music School in Kiev and later at the Royal College of Music in London. Fedorova has won numerous awards, including first prize at the International Rubinstein Piano Competition in 2009 and the Moscow International Frederick Chopin Competition in 2011. Maria Milstein was born in Moscow, Russia in 1985. She began playing the violin at the age of five and studied at the Moscow Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Milstein has won several awards, including first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Almere in 2013 and the Dutch Classical Talent Award in 2014. Gideon den Herder was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1985. He began playing the cello at the age of six and studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. Den Herder has won several awards, including first prize at the National Cello Competition in Amsterdam in 2007 and the International Johannes Brahms Competition in Austria in 2010. The three musicians met while studying at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and formed Trio Kreisleriana in 2010. The ensemble quickly gained recognition for their dynamic performances and unique interpretations of classical music. They have performed at major concert halls and festivals throughout Europe, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Wigmore Hall in London, and the Festival de Radio France et Montpellier in France. One of the highlights of Trio Kreisleriana's career was their performance at the 2014 Amsterdam Cello Biennale. The ensemble performed a program of works by Schumann, Brahms, and Shostakovich to critical acclaim. The Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad praised the trio's "intense and passionate playing" and their ability to "create a sense of unity and coherence in their interpretations." In 2016, Trio Kreisleriana released their debut album, featuring works by Schumann, Brahms, and Dvořák. The album received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for the Edison Classical Award, one of the most prestigious music awards in the Netherlands. Trio Kreisleriana continues to perform and record together, showcasing their unique blend of virtuosity and musical sensitivity. Their performances are characterized by their deep understanding of the music they play and their ability to communicate that understanding to their audiences. The ensemble is widely regarded as one of the most exciting and innovative classical music ensembles of their generation.More....
