Concordia String Trio is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over a decade. The trio was founded in 2009 by three accomplished musicians, violinist Emily Ondracek-Peterson, violist Jonathan Ong, and cellist Michelle Djokic. The ensemble has since become known for their dynamic and expressive interpretations of classical music, as well as their commitment to promoting new works by contemporary composers. Emily Ondracek-Peterson, the founder and first violinist of the Concordia String Trio, began her musical career at the age of three. She studied at the Juilliard School and has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Jonathan Ong, the violist of the trio, is a graduate of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore and has performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Michelle Djokic, the cellist of the trio, is a graduate of the Juilliard School and has performed with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Concordia String Trio has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. They have also been featured on numerous radio programs, including NPR's Performance Today and WQXR's Young Artists Showcase. In addition to their performances, the trio is committed to promoting new works by contemporary composers. They have commissioned and premiered works by composers such as Richard Danielpour, Paul Moravec, and Lowell Liebermann. One of the highlights of the Concordia String Trio's career was their performance at the 2012 Chamber Music America Conference. The trio was selected to perform as part of the conference's showcase concert, which featured some of the most promising young chamber music ensembles in the country. The Concordia String Trio's performance was met with critical acclaim, and they were praised for their "impeccable technique and musicality." In 2014, the Concordia String Trio released their debut album, "Trios by Women Composers." The album features works by female composers such as Rebecca Clarke, Germaine Tailleferre, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich.
