The founding members of the Orquestra de Cambra de Granollers were a group of young musicians who had recently graduated from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) in Barcelona. They were led by the conductor and violinist Salvador Mas, who became the ensemble's first artistic director. Over the years, the Orquestra de Cambra de Granollers has had a rotating cast of musicians, but it has always maintained a core group of players who have been with the ensemble for many years. Some of the main members of the ensemble have included Salvador Mas (violin), Lluís Castán (violin), Joan Enric Lluna (clarinet), and Albert Guinovart (piano). The Orquestra de Cambra de Granollers has performed extensively throughout Spain and Europe, as well as in Asia and the Americas. In 1991, the ensemble won the National Prize for Music from the Generalitat de Catalunya, the autonomous government of Catalonia.
