Born on August 15, 1969, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Milanova grew up in a family of musicians. Her father, a renowned violinist, was her first music teacher, and she started playing the violin at the age of five. Milanova's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly became a prodigy. She won her first competition at the age of seven and went on to win numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. She studied at the National Music School in Sofia and later at the Moscow State Conservatory, where she earned her master's degree in violin performance. Milanova's career took off in the early 1990s when she won the prestigious International Violin Competition in Indianapolis. This win catapulted her to international fame, and she began performing in some of the world's most renowned concert halls.
