Gabriel Bianco is a French classical guitarist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and innovative interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. Born on October 27, 1988, in Nice, France, Bianco began playing the guitar at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. Bianco's early musical education was guided by his father, who was also a guitarist and composer. He studied at the Conservatoire National de Région de Nice, where he received his first guitar lessons from his father. At the age of 12, he won his first guitar competition, the Concours National de Guitare de Bagnols-sur-Cèze, and went on to win several other competitions in France and abroad. In 2006, Bianco was admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with renowned guitarists such as Roland Dyens and Judicaël Perroy. During his studies, he won several prestigious awards, including the first prize at the International Guitar Competition of Antony in 2007 and the first prize at the International Guitar Competition of Seville in 2008. Bianco's career as a professional musician began in 2009, when he won the first prize at the International Guitar Competition of Gargnano, Italy. This victory brought him to the attention of the international classical music scene, and he soon began performing in major concert halls and festivals around the world. One of Bianco's most notable performances was his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York City in 2011. He performed a program of works by Bach, Paganini, and Villa-Lobos, which was met with critical acclaim. The New York Times praised his "dazzling technique and musicality," and hailed him as "one of the most promising young guitarists of his generation." Bianco has also performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Orchestre National de France, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. He has collaborated with many renowned musicians, such as the violinist Renaud Capuçon and the cellist Gautier Capuçon. In addition to his performances, Bianco is also a dedicated teacher and has given masterclasses at many prestigious institutions, including the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Juilliard School in New York, and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in China. Bianco's repertoire is diverse and includes works from the Baroque era to the present day. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Spanish and Latin American composers, such as Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla, and Astor Piazzolla. He has also commissioned and premiered several new works for the guitar, including pieces by the French composer Thierry Escaich and the American composer Bryce Dessner. Bianco has received numerous awards and honors throughout his career. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious "Révélation Classique" award by the French radio station France Musique. In 2015, he was named a "Rising Star" by the European Concert Hall Organization, which led to a series of concerts in major concert halls throughout Europe. In addition to his performing and teaching activities, Bianco is also a recording artist. He has released several albums, including "Bach Inspirations" (2013), which features his own arrangements of works by J.S. Bach, and "Piazzolla Reflections" (2016), which showcases his interpretations of the music of Astor Piazzolla.More....
