Born on December 22, 1992, in Bucharest, Romania, Laura showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, who were both music lovers, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Laura's musical education began at the George Enescu Music High School in Bucharest, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Carmen Săndulescu. During her time at the school, Laura won numerous awards and competitions, including first prize at the National Piano Competition in Bucharest and the International Piano Competition in Sinaia. After completing her studies at the George Enescu Music High School, Laura continued her musical education at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where she studied under the tutelage of distinguished pianist and pedagogue, Viniciu Moroianu. During her time at the university, Laura continued to excel in her studies and won several awards and competitions, including first prize at the International Piano Competition in Cluj-Napoca and the International Piano Competition in Sibiu. In 2014, Laura was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue, Christopher Elton. During her time at the academy, Laura continued to hone her skills and develop her musicality, and she was awarded several prizes and awards, including the Harold Craxton Prize for Accompaniment and the Christian Carpenter Prize for Chamber Music. Since completing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Laura has established herself as a highly sought-after pianist, performing in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and collaborating with some of the most renowned musicians of our time. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Mozart Players, and the Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra, and has given recitals in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, and the Romanian Athenaeum. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Laura is also an accomplished chamber musician, and has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including violinist Maxim Vengerov, cellist Steven Isserlis, and clarinetist Michael Collins. She is a member of the Buruiana Piano Trio, which she founded with her sister, violinist Ioana Buruiana, and cellist Laura Szabo. Laura's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance, musicality, and emotional depth. She is known for her ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music she plays, and for her ability to connect with audiences on a deep and emotional level.
