Trio Kairos is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012. The ensemble consists of three members: pianist Soyeon Kim, violinist Hyun Jeong Hwang, and cellist Ji Eun Hwang. The trio has gained recognition for their dynamic performances and unique interpretations of classical music. Soyeon Kim, the pianist of Trio Kairos, was born in South Korea and began playing the piano at the age of five. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance from the Seoul National University and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. Kim has won numerous awards, including the first prize at the 2010 International Piano Competition in Rome and the 2011 International Piano Competition in Valencia. Hyun Jeong Hwang, the violinist of Trio Kairos, was born in South Korea and began playing the violin at the age of six. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance from the Seoul National University and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. Hwang has won several awards, including the first prize at the 2009 International Violin Competition in Cremona and the 2010 International Violin Competition in Novosibirsk. Ji Eun Hwang, the cellist of Trio Kairos, was born in South Korea and began playing the cello at the age of seven. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Cello Performance from the Seoul National University and continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. Hwang has won several awards, including the first prize at the 2010 International Cello Competition in Liezen and the 2011 International Cello Competition in Markneukirchen. The three members of Trio Kairos met while studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany. They formed the ensemble in 2012 and named it "Kairos," which is a Greek word that means "the right moment." The trio chose this name because they believe that music should be played at the right moment, with the right people, and in the right place. Since its founding, Trio Kairos has performed in numerous concerts and festivals around the world. In 2013, the trio performed at the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea, where they received critical acclaim for their performance of Beethoven's "Triple Concerto." In 2014, Trio Kairos performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, where they played works by Brahms and Schubert. The trio has also performed at the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara de Aguascalientes in Mexico and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. Trio Kairos has also won several awards for their performances. In 2013, the trio won the first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan. In 2014, they won the first prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, Italy. The trio has also been awarded the prestigious "Rising Star" award by the European Concert Hall Organization, which recognizes young and talented musicians. In addition to their performances, Trio Kairos is also committed to music education. The trio has conducted masterclasses and workshops for young musicians in South Korea, Germany, and Mexico. They believe that music education is essential for the development of young musicians and for the promotion of classical music.
