F. Vivian Dunn was a Jamaican-born composer, conductor, and music educator who made significant contributions to the world of classical music. He was born on February 7, 1919, in Kingston, Jamaica, to a family of musicians. His father, Felix Dunn, was a well-known violinist, and his mother, Ethel, was a pianist.
