From a young age, Wiesheu showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Wiesheu began his musical training at the age of six, learning to play the piano. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began to take lessons from some of the best teachers in Munich. By the time he was a teenager, Wiesheu had already won several local piano competitions and was well on his way to becoming a professional musician. After completing his secondary education, Wiesheu enrolled at the Munich Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. During his time at the conservatory, Wiesheu honed his skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. In 1972, Wiesheu graduated from the Munich Conservatory with top honors and immediately began his career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation for his technical prowess and his ability to interpret complex musical compositions with ease. Over the years, Wiesheu performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He also collaborated with some of the most renowned conductors and orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the Berlin Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Wiesheu's career was his performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73, also known as the "Emperor Concerto." His interpretation of the piece was widely praised by critics and audiences alike, and it cemented his reputation as one of the greatest pianists of his generation. In addition to his performances, Wiesheu was also a prolific recording artist. He recorded numerous albums throughout his career, including solo piano works, chamber music, and concertos. His recordings were critically acclaimed and won several awards, including the Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Soloist Performance. Wiesheu was also a dedicated teacher and mentor to many young musicians. He taught at several music schools and conservatories, including the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.
