Moore showed an early interest in music and literature, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passions. Moore received his early education at a private school in Dublin, where he studied Latin, Greek, and French. He also received music lessons from a local organist. In 1794, at the age of 15, Moore entered Trinity College, Dublin, where he studied law. After completing his studies at Trinity College, Moore moved to London in 1799 to pursue a career in law. However, he soon abandoned his legal career to focus on his writing and music. In 1801, he published his first collection of poems, titled "Poetical Works of the Late Thomas Little, Esq." The collection was well-received, and it established Moore as a promising young poet. Moore's musical career began in 1808, when he published his first collection of Irish Melodies. The collection was a collaboration with the composer John Stevenson, and it included traditional Irish tunes that Moore had set to new lyrics. The Irish Melodies were an instant success, and they helped to popularize Irish music in England and beyond. Over the next few years, Moore continued to publish collections of Irish Melodies, and he also wrote a number of operas and other musical works. In 1817, he published his most famous work, "Lalla Rookh," a collection of oriental tales set to music.
