He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Brugnami showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Brugnami's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Conservatorio di Musica Luigi Cherubini in Florence, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer, Andrea Lucchesini. In 2003, Brugnami won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Rome, which marked a turning point in his career.
