Il Terzo Suono is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2003 by three Italian musicians: violinist Marco Fornaciari, cellist Daniele Roi and pianist Fabrizio Ottaviucci. The ensemble's name, which translates to "the third sound" in English, reflects their desire to create a unique and innovative approach to classical music. The three musicians had previously worked together in various chamber music groups and orchestras, but they wanted to form a group that would allow them to explore their own musical ideas and interpretations. They began rehearsing together and soon developed a repertoire that included both classical masterpieces and contemporary works. Il Terzo Suono quickly gained recognition for their dynamic and expressive performances, which were characterized by their technical precision and emotional depth. They began performing in Italy and soon expanded their reach to other countries in Europe and beyond. One of the ensemble's early highlights was their performance at the 2004 Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy. They were invited to perform alongside some of the world's most renowned classical musicians, and their performance was met with critical acclaim. In the years that followed, Il Terzo Suono continued to build their reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative classical music ensembles of their generation. They performed at major festivals and concert halls around the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and Carnegie Hall in New York. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was their 2010 concert at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy. They performed a program of works by Beethoven, Brahms, and Schumann, and their performance was hailed as a triumph by both critics and audiences. Il Terzo Suono has also been recognized with numerous awards and honors throughout their career. In 2006, they were awarded the prestigious Premio Abbiati, which is considered one of the highest honors in Italian classical music. They have also been awarded the Premio Franco Abbiati and the Premio della Critica Musicale. Despite their success, Il Terzo Suono remains committed to their original vision of creating a unique and innovative approach to classical music. They continue to explore new repertoire and collaborate with other musicians and artists to create performances that are both technically impressive and emotionally engaging. Today, Il Terzo Suono is considered one of the most important classical music ensembles of their generation. Their performances continue to inspire and captivate audiences around the world, and their legacy as innovators in the classical music world is secure.
