Mina Gajic is a Serbian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her virtuosic performances and musical interpretations. She was born on May 5, 1991, in Belgrade, Serbia, to a family of musicians. Her father, a renowned conductor, and her mother, a pianist, recognized her musical talent at an early age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Gajic began playing the piano at the age of four and quickly showed a natural aptitude for the instrument. She received her first piano lessons from her mother and later studied with some of the most prominent piano teachers in Serbia, including Arbo Valdma and Ninoslav Zivkovic. She also attended masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Boris Berman, Pascal Devoyon, and Jerome Rose. At the age of 12, Gajic won her first international piano competition, the EPTA International Piano Competition in Novi Sad, Serbia. This was the beginning of a successful career as a pianist, and she went on to win numerous awards and prizes at international competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Rome, Italy, the International Piano Competition in Belgrade, Serbia, and the International Piano Competition in San Marino. Gajic's talent and dedication to music led her to pursue a formal education in music. She received her Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, where she studied with Ninoslav Zivkovic. She then went on to earn her Master's degree in Piano Performance from the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in Germany, where she studied with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Tamara Stefanovich. Throughout her career, Gajic has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Tonhalle Zurich, and the Carnegie Hall in New York. She has also performed with some of the most renowned orchestras, including the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Gajic's career was her performance at the 2010 International Piano Festival in Berlin, where she was awarded the Grand Prix and the Audience Prize. This performance was widely praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, and it cemented Gajic's reputation as one of the most promising young pianists of her generation. Gajic's repertoire is diverse and includes works by some of the most celebrated composers in classical music, such as Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff. She is particularly known for her interpretations of contemporary music and has premiered works by several contemporary composers, including Marko Nikodijevic, Ivan Brkljacic, and Aleksandar Sedlar. In addition to her career as a performer, Gajic is also a dedicated teacher and has taught piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with young musicians and helping them develop their own musical voices. Gajic's talent, dedication, and passion for music have earned her numerous accolades and awards throughout her career. In addition to her success at international competitions, she has been awarded the Serbian Music Award for Best Young Artist and the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music.
