The Alim Qasimov Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that specializes in Azerbaijani mugham music. The ensemble was founded by Alim Qasimov, a renowned Azerbaijani musician, in the early 1990s. Alim Qasimov was born in 1957 in the city of Shamakhi, Azerbaijan. He grew up in a family of musicians and began singing mugham at a young age. In 1999, they were awarded the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts. Their first album, "Mugham," was released in 1993 and was widely praised for its innovative approach to mugham music. They have since released several more albums, including "Love's Deep Ocean" and "Spiritual Music of Azerbaijan." Today, the Alim Qasimov Ensemble continues to perform and record music, showcasing the beauty and complexity of mugham music to audiences around the world.
