She began taking piano lessons with her mother and quickly progressed, winning her first competition at the age of six. Kehl continued to study music throughout her childhood and adolescence, attending the Vienna Conservatory of Music and later the Juilliard School in New York City. Over the years, Kehl has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Vienna Philharmonic.
