Igor Pasek was born on May 12, 1985, in Prague, Czech Republic. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Pasek showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Pasek's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. Pasek's talent was evident from an early age, and he began performing in public at the age of six. As a child, Pasek participated in numerous music competitions and won several awards. His talent was recognized by the Czech Ministry of Culture, which awarded him a scholarship to study at the Prague Conservatory. Pasek studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Ivan Klánský. During his time at the conservatory, Pasek continued to excel in his studies and won several awards for his performances. He also began to perform in concerts and recitals, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Pasek's performances were praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. After completing his studies at the Prague Conservatory, Pasek was accepted into the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He continued to study under Ivan Klánský and also received guidance from other renowned pianists, including Rudolf Firkušný and Alfred Brendel. Pasek's talent continued to flourish during his time at the academy, and he began to receive international recognition for his performances. He won several awards at international music competitions, including the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht. In 2008, Pasek made his debut at the Prague Spring International Music Festival, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in Europe. His performance was a resounding success, and he was invited to perform at the festival again in 2010 and 2012. Pasek's career continued to soar, and he began to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He also collaborated with some of the world's leading conductors, including Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Valery Gergiev. In 2014, Pasek was awarded the prestigious International Classical Music Award for his recording of Beethoven's Piano Concertos Nos. 3 and 4. The recording was praised for its technical brilliance and emotional depth, and cemented Pasek's reputation as one of the world's leading classical pianists. Pasek's career continued to flourish, and he became known for his interpretations of the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt. He also began to explore contemporary classical music and collaborated with several contemporary composers, including Thomas Adès and John Adams. In 2018, Pasek was appointed as a professor of piano at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he continues to teach and inspire the next generation of classical musicians. Throughout his career, Pasek has been praised for his technical brilliance, emotional depth, and musical sensitivity. He has won numerous awards and accolades for his performances and recordings, and is widely regarded as one of the world's leading classical pianists.
