Casper Roos was born on May 12, 1985, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Casper showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Casper's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. At the age of ten, Casper gave his first public performance at a local music festival, where he received a standing ovation. Casper continued to hone his skills as a pianist and began participating in various competitions. In 2001, he won first prize at the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians in the Netherlands. This was a significant achievement for Casper, as it opened up many opportunities for him to perform at prestigious venues across Europe. In 2003, Casper was accepted into the Royal Conservatory of Music in The Hague, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and teacher, Jan Wijn. During his time at the conservatory, Casper participated in masterclasses with some of the world's leading pianists, including Murray Perahia, András Schiff, and Alfred Brendel. Casper's talent as a pianist continued to grow, and he began to receive invitations to perform at major music festivals and concert halls around the world. In 2007, he made his debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, one of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. The performance was a huge success, and Casper received a standing ovation from the audience. Over the years, Casper has performed at many other notable venues, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and Carnegie Hall in New York. He has also collaborated with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. Casper's performances have been praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. He has a unique ability to connect with his audience and bring the music to life in a way that is both powerful and moving. His repertoire includes works by some of the greatest composers in history, including Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff. In addition to his performances, Casper is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses at some of the world's leading music schools, including the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy of Music in London. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians and helping them to develop their own unique voices. Casper has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a major career in music. He has also been awarded the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and the Gilmore Young Artist Award. Despite his many achievements, Casper remains humble and dedicated to his craft. He continues to push himself to new heights and explore new avenues of expression through his music.
