Rossitza Stoycheva is a Bulgarian classical pianist who has gained international recognition for her exceptional talent and musicality. Born on May 22, 1979, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Stoycheva showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. Her parents, both music teachers, recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Stoycheva's early musical education was at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where she studied with renowned Bulgarian pianist and pedagogue, Prof. Julia Ganeva. She continued her studies at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance under the guidance of Prof. Milena Mollova. Stoycheva then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria, where she studied with Prof. Stefan Vladar. Stoycheva's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became evident, and she began to receive recognition for her performances. In 2001, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Marsala" in Italy, and in 2002, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition "Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte" in the Czech Republic. These early successes paved the way for Stoycheva's career as a concert pianist. Stoycheva has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States, collaborating with renowned conductors and orchestras. Some of her most notable performances include her debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in 2004, her performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in 2006, and her performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine in 2010. In addition to her performances as a soloist, Stoycheva is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with many distinguished musicians, including violinist Midori Goto, cellist David Geringas, and clarinetist Sharon Kam. Stoycheva is a member of the Vienna Piano Trio, which has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia and has recorded several critically acclaimed albums. Stoycheva's musicality and technical proficiency have earned her numerous accolades throughout her career. In 2007, she was awarded the "Musician of the Year" prize by the Bulgarian National Radio, and in 2011, she received the "Crystal Lyre" award from the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers. Stoycheva has also been a recipient of the prestigious "Borletti-Buitoni Trust" award, which recognizes outstanding young musicians and provides them with financial support and career guidance. Stoycheva is also a dedicated teacher and has served on the faculty of several prestigious music institutions, including the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia. She is committed to passing on her knowledge and experience to the next generation of musicians and has mentored many young pianists who have gone on to successful careers in music. In addition to her performing and teaching career, Stoycheva is also a passionate advocate for the arts and has been involved in several initiatives to promote classical music and support young musicians.
