BelgiumAKA Moon is a Belgian jazz trio that has been active since 1992. The ensemble consists of Fabrizio Cassol on saxophone, Michel Hatzigeorgiou on bass, and Stéphane Galland on drums. The group's name is derived from the initials of the three members' first names. The trio first came together in Brussels in the early 1990s, and quickly gained a reputation for their innovative approach to jazz music. They drew inspiration from a wide range of musical styles, including African rhythms, classical music, and electronic music. Their music was characterized by complex rhythms, intricate melodies, and a strong sense of improvisation. AKA Moon's first album, "Gig," was released in 1992. Over the next few years, AKA Moon continued to tour and record, releasing a series of albums that further explored their unique blend of jazz, classical, and world music. In 2003, they released "Amazir," which was inspired by the music of North Africa.
