Marien Van Staalen was born on May 12, 1985, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents, both music enthusiasts, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue her passion. Marien's musical education began at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and composer, Jan Wijn. In 2005, Marien was awarded the prestigious Prix d'Excellence, the highest honor bestowed upon a student at the Amsterdam Conservatory.
