From a young age, Tormod showed a keen interest in music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Tormod's parents recognized his potential and enrolled him in the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, where he received formal training in piano performance. After completing his studies at Juilliard, Tormod returned to Norway, where he continued to perform and teach music.
