She was a celebrated organist, pianist, and music educator, who made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Torrent began her musical journey at a young age, showing a keen interest in music. She started playing the piano at the age of four and later began studying the organ. She received her first organ lessons from her father, who was a church organist. She continued her studies at the Barcelona Conservatory, where she studied under the guidance of renowned organist, Montserrat Alavedra. In 1946, Torrent won the first prize in the National Organ Competition held in Madrid, which marked the beginning of her successful career as a musician. She went on to win several other prestigious awards, including the International Organ Competition in Munich in 1950 and the International Organ Competition in Geneva in 1951. Torrent's talent as an organist was recognized worldwide, and she was invited to perform in several countries, including the United States, Canada, and Japan. She performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, and the Lincoln Center in New York. Torrent was also a prolific recording artist, and her recordings of Bach's organ works are considered some of the best in the world. She recorded for several record labels, including Deutsche Grammophon, Philips, and Harmonia Mundi. In addition to her successful career as a performer, Torrent was also a dedicated music educator. She taught at the Barcelona Conservatory and later became a professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich, Germany.
